One of the main activities of the Society has been the publishing of a quarterly magazine – The Rail Enthusiast. The first issue of its magazine was launched on the 6th of August 2016 at the Central Services Officers’ Institute at New Delhi. The Chief Guest at the function was Mr. Ashwani Lohani, an eminent rail enthusiast, who has made enormous contributions for recognising and preserving rail heritage. He is the CMD of Air India and was the Chairman of the Indian Railway Board. However, he had been invited to launch the magazine not as a railway man but in his capaciety as a rail enthusiast. You can read of the resurrection of the Fairy Queen and the setting up of the Rewari Steam shed in his own words in the “Interview” on pages 12-17 of the first issue of the magazine.
